"Sparkle Honey"

SPARKLE HONEY

If you are going to use words that can describe yourself what would be those words? Are they going to be sweet adjectives or would you use metaphors such as nouns that talk about a plain object that deep down, there is actually a meaning about it? Knowing ourselves is one of the best things that we can do. There’s always a difference between “Who I am” and “What I am”. Do you know how you can describe yourself? Do you know what best describes you? Well, I know what best describes me, so let us get to know who Gieminn Mhyel D. Teaño really is, and what she really is.

My name is actually made up by my father. My mother said the meaning of my first name is “Sparkle”. I guess in some way, I can really be described with that word. I like glittery objects, and I really love having that sparkle. All I think about when I hear that word is “the stars”, and I do want to reach the stars because I got tons of dreams lying around my shoulders. My second name which is “Mhyel” was actually just like my mother’s nickname “Mel”, but they just added two letters which are h and y. My English teacher in eight grade said that it was like the Italian of “honey”, but in a different spelling. So if you combine the two meanings of my name, it’s like “Sparkle Honey”. And these words describe me. I am someone who keeps herself in sparkle, so I wouldn’t dull in darkness. And I am like honey; sweet, natural, and imperishable. But thinking about honey, my other side can really describe me as a bee which honeys came from. I can be stingy and dangerous when my fuse is about to blow. But all in all, I’m mostly a “honey”... a darling perhaps.

Sparkle and honey are the words that best describes me. I am sweet, imperishable, natural, and I keep myself in sparkle. I know these words are probably not the ones that mostly use in describing themselves. These served as my metaphors that kept me on being who I am and what I really am.  Someone can say that they are a rose for they are beautiful and quite dangerous, and someone can say that they are a rainbow for they are bright and colorful. And there is me who chose the meanings behind my name to become my metaphors to be the words that best describes me. I am Gieminn Mhyel D. Teaño, and I am sparkle honey. And right now, I am saying “don’t forget to sparkle, honey.”
