COVID-19 Vaccines for Children and Teens

The Pfizer vaccine has proven to be safe and effective for children and teens age 5 and older. At this time, the Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine authorized for emergency use in children ages 5-11 years, children ages 12-15 years and teens ages 16 and older to prevent COVID-19. It is administered in two doses three weeks apart, injected into the arm muscle. Studies show that vaccine recipients achieve immunity about two weeks after receiving the vaccine’s second dose. Scientists are still learning about how long that immunity will last. (COVID-19 Vaccines for Children and Teens - CHOC - Children's Health)

As a teen, I wanted to get vaccinated, too. Knowing that the Covid 19 vaccines are finally safe for our age and that we can finally get vaccinated, I felt a bit nervous, but I was happy. It always felt unsafe going out even if you’re wearing a mask. There are articles proving that people my age catch the virus often than adults because our bodies aren’t that immune. The vaccine lessens the chances of us getting infected with the virus. As well, the vaccine lets us go out of our houses and visit other places because it became a need. I’d say getting the vaccine indeed helped. It has a couple of effects like your shoulder feeling hurt and heavy, but it wouldn’t be so long.

A vaccine helps the immune system develop immunity from a disease .I believe it is important it’s important to get vaccinated for us to feel safer and be safer with this virus. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 can lower your risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19. Vaccines can also help prevent serious illness and death. And all steps have been taken to ensure that vaccines are safe and effective for people ages 5 years and older. And for more information about the vaccine, here’s an article: COVID-19 Vaccines for Children and Teens | CDC. Let’s all make ourselves protected and safe against the virus. Let’s hope and pray for betterment of the world
