ONLY ONE EARTH – NO PLANET B
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on the fifth day of June, and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. First held in 1973, it has been a platform for raising awareness on environmental issues such as marine pollution, overpopulation, global warming, sustainable development and wildlife crime. World Environment Day is a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. Each year, the program has provided a theme and forum for businesses, non government organizations, communities, governments and celebrities to advocate environmental causes.
World Environment Day 2022 is the biggest international day for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and held annually since 1973, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. It is celebrated by millions of people across the world. World Environment Day 2022 is hosted by Sweden. “Only One Earth" is the campaign slogan, with the focus on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”.
Environmental concerns started to emerge only in the early ‘70s. More and more scientific evidence was compiled and pointed to the huge toll of the global development trajectory on nature. At the Stockholm conference, delegates therefore recognized that we have “Only One Earth”, and that the goals of poverty reduction and environment protection are closely interlinked. The following words from the conference declaration became the cornerstone for later development agendas, including the Sustainable Development Goals: “Man has the fundamental right to freedom, equality and adequate conditions of life, in an environment of a quality that permits a life of dignity and well-being, and he bears a solemn responsibility to protect and improve the environment for present and future generations”.
50 years on, these words are more relevant than ever. It is not surprising that “Only One Earth” was symbolically chosen as the slogan for the 2022 World Environment Day. During the past few days, the international community gathered in Sweden for the Stockholm+50 conference under the theme “a healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity”, to discuss urgent and bold actions needed to secure a more sustainable future. Indeed, despite positive progress on policies, science and technology, the alarm related to the health of our planet is ringing loudly to announce that we have entered into an emergency mode due to multiple interconnected planetary crises ranging from climate change to biodiversity loss to pollution, and that these are intensifying inequalities, health risks and global insecurity.
There is only one Earth meaning there’s only one planet to live on. There is no such as a Planet B that’s why we must be better and nature-caring humans, so we would be able to live longer in this world. We always do the Plan A which is A is for Action to make the only planet we have safe and productive for this generation, and the other future generations. And so, we must be living sustainably in harmony with nature. Remember: ONLY ONE EARTH – NO PLANET B

FOUR GRADINGS OF LEARNING OF FUN
I have learned a lot about Community Based Research, Sitemap, and FrontPage. I finally made a web page for my CBC. Still, we're doing blogs, and this is going to be the last one. And just like what I shared with the first quarter, I am doing things that I love, still even with learning. Starting it up, it does have hardships. You will need to balance your time and you need to adjust. But I realize that you grow further and you start to feel better with what you do. I love this quarter for I can bring out my thoughts and opinions in certain topics.
Cheers to Father’s Day!
Father's Day is a holiday of honoring fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society. In Catholic countries of Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 as Saint Joseph's Day since the Middle Ages. In the United States, Father's Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd, and celebrated on the third Sunday of June for the first time in 1910. The day is held on various dates across the world, and different regions maintain their own traditions of honoring fatherhood. Father's Day is a recognized public holiday in Lithuania and some parts of Spain and was regarded as such in Italy until 1977. It is a national holiday in Estonia, Samoa, and equivalently in South Korea, where it is celebrated as Parents' Day. The holiday complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents' Day.
Father’s Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in June in the
United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, and a number of other countries
around the world. Many countries celebrate this holiday at other times of the
year. Father's Day for the year 2022 is celebrated/ observed on Sunday, June
19th. Father's Day is observed on the third Sunday of June. It honors all
fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, and father figures for their
contribution. The Day was created to complement Mother's Day.
And
as well with motherhood, fatherhood is difficult. And Father’s Day should be
celebrated to remind us the importance of having a caring and loving father in
our lives. Even it’s just a day, it should adore the challenges that fatherhood
has. So to all the fathers, especially to my favourite guy in this universe, my
Dada, cheers to Father’s Day!

Philippine Independence: The Most Significant Event In Our Country’s History.
Independence Day (Filipino: Araw ng Kasarinlán; also known as Araw ng Kalayaan, "Day of Freedom") is an annual national holiday in the Philippines observed on June 12, commemorating the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898. On June 5, 1898, Aguinaldo issued a decree at his house located in what was then known as Cavite El Viejo proclaiming June 12, 1898 as the day of independence. The Acta de la Proclamacion de la Independencia del Pueblo Filipino was solemnly read by its author, Ambrosio Rianzares Bautista, Aguinaldo's war counselor and special delegate. The 21-page declaration was signed by 98 Filipinos, appointed by Aguinaldo, and one retired American artillery officer, Colonel L. M. Johnson. The Philippine flag was officially unfurled for the first time at about 4:30 p.m, as the Marcha Nacional Filipina was played by the band of San Francisco de Malabon. (Independence Day (Philippines) - Wikipedia)
National Flag Day in the Philippines is celebrated on May 28. It commemorates the first use of the Philippine flag after the victory in the Battle of Alapan in 1898. The current national flag of the Philippines was created by the Filipino revolutionary Emilio Aguinaldo in 1897. It is a horizontal bicolor of royal blue over scarlet red. There is a white equilateral triangle at the hoist with a golden sun with 8 rays in the center and a 5-pointed gold star at each vertex. The flag was first raised after the Battle of Alapan that occurred on May 28, 1898. The battle was fought between the Filipino revolutionaries led by Aguinaldo and Spanish troops. The Spanish were defeated, and the revolutionaries recaptured the province of Cavite. After the battle, Aguinaldo entered Cavite City and unfurled the would-be national flag for the first time. Flag Day in the Philippines is marked with the raising of the national flag. The flag is permanently displayed from May 28 to June 12 (Independence Day) by all government offices and agencies, businesses, educational institutions and private residences. In recent years, the flag days have been extended until June 30 to celebrate the country's independence and promote patriotism. (National Flag Day in the Philippines / May 28, 2022 (anydayguide.com))
The declaration of
independence is one of the most important events in Philippine history. The
country was colonized by many nations for hundreds of years, and finally
achieving the freedom they yearned after all the lost and sacrifices is a huge
milestone. As we celebrate the holiday, may we not forget its significance in
our country’s history. Our heroes put their lives at risk, so let’s remember
the sacrifices of our heroes. As well, let us all show our love for our country,
and lastly but not definitely the least, let’s spread awareness of Filipino
history and culture. For Philippine
Independence is the most significant event in our country’s history.

THE REASON WHY I AM DREAMING ON EARTH
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations, largely pushed by commercial interests, honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents' Day.
While some countries have a multi-century
history of a day to celebrate mothers, the modern American version of the
holiday began in the United States in the early 20th
century at the initiative of Anna Jarvis, who organized the first Mother's Day service of worship and
celebration at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia,
which serves as the International Mother's Day
Shrine today. It is not directly related to the many
traditional celebrations of mothers and motherhood that have existed throughout
the world over thousands of years, such as the Greek cult to Cybele, the mother deity Rhea, the Roman festival of Hilaria, or the other Christian ecclesiastical Mothering Sunday celebration (associated with the image
of Mother Church). However, in some
countries, Mother's Day is still synonymous with these older traditions. (Mother's Day - Wikipedia)
Mother’s Day is one of those important days that I and my siblings await. We might not be the children that buy gifts to our Mama for that very special day we try hard to let her enjoy it. We go to church, we greet her and the other mothers that our big family has, and we celebrate in front of a special meal. We make her feel loved and appreciated. And this year, it was even more special. We had a plus one on our family that also calls her Mama. We were once three and now we’re four that makes the love and appreciation bigger. So to all Mothers out there, especially to our Mama, we celebrate and honor you. To my Mama who always believe and see the best out of me, I love you with all my heart. You gave and brought me to this world, and you are the reason why I am dreaming on Earth.
A Tapestry of Culture and Arts Woven
A Tapestry of Culture and Arts Woven
To take us with a little history
drive of the Binatbatan Festival, here’s “a tapestry of culture and arts woven by a
miracle that saved the residents in 1882.” Go back to where the festival
came from and understand the miracle that saved the residents in December 1882.
Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts celebrated from the last week of
April to the first week of May was originally the Feast of the Natives that
began on May 3, 1883, according to the writings of Damaso King, well-known
Vigan historian. The festival began when an epidemic killed 934 residents
in a month in 1882. The epidemic started Nov. 12 and ended Dec. 15. This
happened 30 years after a chapel was built in 1852 in the cemetery of Vigan. The
huge number of deaths in such short time alarmed the naturales or
native inhabitants and mestizos or residents with Spanish blood that
they asked Dr. Evaristo Abaya, the parish priest to request for the visit to
Vigan of the Santo Cristo Milagroso of Sinait town. (Ilocano
Culture: Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts — Tawid News Magazine)
Binatbatan festival was introduced to celebrate Abel Iloco hand-loom weaving. Binatbatan is the process of beating cotton pods to remove the seeds. This is shown through the Binatbatan street dancing and showdown. Binatbatan Street Dancing is a known event that a lot of bigueños and even other people like tourists wait for. Binatbatan became another Ilocano folk dance or an occupational dance. Performers of this dance maneuver in and out of the parallel sticks and the resulting rhythm and speed of the beating of sticks made a colorful and lively display.
