THE REASON WHY I AM DREAMING ON EARTH

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations, largely pushed by commercial interests, honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents' Day.

While some countries have a multi-century history of a day to celebrate mothers, the modern American version of the holiday began in the United States in the early 20th century at the initiative of Anna Jarvis, who organized the first Mother's Day service of worship and celebration at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia, which serves as the International Mother's Day Shrine today. It is not directly related to the many traditional celebrations of mothers and motherhood that have existed throughout the world over thousands of years, such as the Greek cult to Cybele, the mother deity Rhea, the Roman festival of Hilaria, or the other Christian ecclesiastical Mothering Sunday celebration (associated with the image of Mother Church). However, in some countries, Mother's Day is still synonymous with these older traditions.               Mother’s day is very important for it is the only day in the whole year that a mother can won a whole day for themselves–the only day that they are celebrated. Mother’s day is the day where we can express respect, honor, and love towards the women who carried us months in their wombs and gave birth to us, the women who brought food in the table, the women who made a home a home, and the women who gave us life and love. Who are they? They are our mothers. And that day should be celebrated well and we should acknowledge every effort our mothers made, and we should see the important role of mothers in our society.

Mother’s Day is one of those important days that I and my siblings await. We might not be the children that buy gifts to our Mama for that very special day we try hard to let her enjoy it. We go to church, we greet her and the other mothers that our big family has, and we celebrate in front of a special meal. We make her feel loved and appreciated. And this year, it was even more special. We had a plus one on our family that also calls her Mama. We were once three and now we’re four that makes the love and appreciation bigger. So to all Mothers out there, especially to our Mama, we celebrate and honor you. To my Mama who always believe and see the best out of me, I love you with all my heart. You gave and brought me to this world, and you are the reason why I am dreaming on Earth.
