Excitement is in the air! You
can also feel the spirit of celebration is moving around. Although, now, we can
only feel it through the cold air and the decorations we hang to feel festive.
Because in this time of the year, shops are full of shoppers, gifts are being
wrapped and sent, and greeting cards are exchanged. But then, just because we are
in a pandemic, should we already forget what Christmas is all about? Is it the
big gatherings, the gifts, the cards, the big Christmas tree and the bright Christmas
lights? Does it have always need to be so big for it to be jolly? What is the
essence of Christmas?
Celebrating Christmas with
our family and friends are what we look up to almost every year. To some people
Christmas is the time for them to shut down all work and rest or travel. It can
also be the time where we visit the people and have fun with them because we haven’t
seen them in a long time. All of these are great and they really make the
season be colorful. But the main reason for the celebration? Our savior Jesus Christ is the complete essence of Christmas.
The 25th day of December
is the accepted birthday celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ and it has been
named Christmas.
Covid-19 may be still present in our lives, but do not let it ruin the Christmas spirit that we must have in our hearts. Let us always will find a way to celebrate the season and express their love to family and friends. Even though there are no gifts, no cards, no big gatherings, and we can’t travel and visit other places, let us all stay connected and let the spirit of Christmas ignite in our hearts.
