New Year, A Better Version of Me

New Year, A Better Version of Me

"New year, new me" is a phrase you often hear in the first day of January or even before that day… months before that day. It is very common to start a new year's resolution. This can be to give something up that we are overly obsessed with; maybe a bad habit that is bad for our health like sweets or chocolate, so you can be healthier. People also like to start doing something new, like taking up a new hobby, being more productive, starting up a journal or maybe even a business… finding the best opportunity for them to have the best year.

But come to think of it, new year resolutions shouldn’t really just focus around being “new”. I realized that every year, we do get better. Maybe not completely better, but we do get better… baby steps as they call it, little by little, we become better. We seek for more, and we try to do a lot more. And as a little advice, do not just make a new year resolution that can give you something new about yourself, but also do those old good things you do before that you lacked the previous year.

My new year resolution? Be more productive, write more books and songs and poems. I want to improve and I want to go bang to singing and dancing the way I loved it when I was younger. And yah, I want to see what the year has for me. Grabbing opportunities will be an easy task once they are given. New Year, New Me? More like New Year, A Better Version of Me.

  2. Hello! I love how you see New Year's resolutions as a character development and the improvement of skills and going back/recalling old hobbies and habits other than setting goals in changing a specific characteristic or starting a new hobby/habit. I wish you good luck in your goals this year and the years after! <3
